Special Note

The Society has been undertaking an extensive upgrade to our systems over the past few months, culminating in the upgrade of the Internet Banking facility on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of August 2008. This upgrade has meant that the login page for ABSOnline now requires changed settings in your web browser to work correctly.  We have prepared some instructions for the most commonly used web browsers.  See the foot of this page for details.

There are further security enhancments planned for the Internet Banking service in the coming weeks which may disrupt the facility in the future.  We will endeavour however to give our members sufficient notice as to the timings of any planned outages.

Forthcoming (planned) Interruptions:

Note to Customers: External Transfers made after 4:00pm will not be processed until the following business day.

Please be aware of the following Internet Security Issues :

ª              As with the PIN on your ABS Cashcard, never reveal your ABS Online Access Code to another person.

ª              Change your Access Code frequently and choose Access Codes that are hard to guess.

ª             Use Anti-Virus (and ideally Firewall / Internet Security) and Anti-Spyware software on your computer, and update it regularly.

ª             Note that some banks' customers have been targeted by unsolicited hoax emails. These emails try to steal account details by re-directing customers to a 'fake' version of the bank's Internet Banking site.

Therefore, do not open emails from an unknown or un-trusted source

ª            Never provide your account details in response to an unsolicited request, particularly if received by email.

ª              ABS Building Society will never contact you by email seeking details of your ABS Online login. If you receive any such communication, it is fraudulent, and should be ignored and reported to the Society immediately.

ª              Always ensure that, when accessing ABSOnline, you do so via www.absbuildingsociety.com.au, and no other Internet address.

ª              Do not accept links or redirections from other websites or media for the purpose of logging on to ABS Online.

ª            Before performing any kind of transaction at the ABS Online site, check for the locked padlock symbol at the bottom of your browser. The locked padlock indicates that the page is "secure", and you can perform your transaction with confidence.

ª            Avoid using computers at public places - such as internet cafes - to undertake any ABS Online functions.
