Fees and Charges
Effective 01 January 2002
Transaction Fees
 |

Fees and Charges are determined by taking the number of monthly
transactions on an account in each category less any fee free
component multiplied by the charge as disclosed below. An
account is an account number and includes any linked accounts
to that number eg 123456 S3, S4, S15 etc. These transaction
fees do not apply to loan accounts, other than overdraft accounts
or to investment accounts.

Counter Cheques   |
| Counter cheques incur a $1.10 fee per cheque.
|
|
Dishonoured Personal Cheques   |
| Personal cheques dishonoured by ABS incur a $30.00 fee. |
|
| A $15.00 reference fee may be charged if an account becomes
overdrawn without prior arrangements. |
|
| Audit Certificate/Certificate of Balance |
|
Dishonoured Cheque Deposits  |
| Where cheques are deposited to an account and then dishonoured
by the drawing bank, a fee of $15.00 per cheque applies. |
|
Direct Debit Dishonours  |
| Where there are insufficient funds to cover an incoming or
outgoing direct debit, a fee of $35.00 applies. |
|
Stop Payment of Cheques  |
| Where a stop payment of either a member cheque or counter
cheque is required, a fee of $5.00 applies. |
|
Special Clearance on Cheques  |
| Where a member requests to clear a cheque deposit before the
normal 3 working day clearance period, a $35.00 fee applies
to local requests and a $15.00 applies to all other requests. |
|
Bank Cheques  |
| All bank cheques have a fee of $10.00 |
|
Overseas Drafts  |
| Overseas drafts are available for members wishing to send
money overseas. A fee of $25.00 applies. |
|
Foreign Currency Conversion  |
| The fee for foreign currency conversion is cost recovery plus
a $5.00 service fee. |
|
Telegraphic Transfers  |
| All telegraphic transfers have a fee of $20.00 |
|
| Periodic Payments to an external institution have a fee of
$5.00. Periodic Payments within the ABS are free. |
|
Cashcard  |
|
The charge for placing a stop on a Cashcard through Cashcard
Australia Ltd is $30.00 (including GST).
The charge for placing a stop on a Cashcard through the Society
is $5.00.
A fee of $5.00 applies to the replacement of a lost or stolen
Cashcard.

| An inoperative account fee of $10.00 may be charged when an
account does not have an account holder generated transaction
for a period of 2 years or more and we are required to transfer
the unclaimed balance in terms of the Unclaimed Money Act 1995. |

Members requesting document searches or copies of documents
will be charged the following:
Photocopying
Photocopying is charged at $0.50 per page.
Details of a Cheque
If available. A search fee based on a rate of $1.00 a minute
is charged. The minimum fee is $5.00
Document Searches
Where a member requests the ABS to retrieve documents a search
fee based on a rate of $1.00 a minute is charged. The minimum
fee is $5.00
Duplicate Copies of Statements
Where a member requests the ABS to duplicate a statement a
service fee of $2.00 is charged and the photocopying fee of
$0.50 a page is charged.

| Transaction Fees and Charges are calculated
monthly, as at the third last working day of each month, and
debited to the account before the end of the month. |

| MINIMISE YOUR TRANSACTION FEES BY FOLLOWING
THESE SUGGESTIONS |
To keep the transaction fees to a minimum, please keep the
following in mind:
Use EFTPOS instead of ATM's whenever possible and take out extra
cash when using EFTPOS.
Type your pin number in carefully - transactions involving invalid
pin numbers are charged.
The piece of paper that comes with the ATM transaction shows
your account balance, there should be no need to check your
balance after such a transaction.
Instead of making small frequent withdrawals do fewer larger
withdrawals. ATM and EFTPOS withdrawals under $21.00 are not
included as free transactions. |
