Phone-ABS is a computerised telephone system which
enables you to call 24 hours a day, seven days a week,
every day of the year and access your ABS Building Society
Accounts.
Phone-ABS will allow you to obtain balances, transfer funds,
request statements and obtain details of transactions as well
as many other useful functions.
There are no application forms - ABS Building Society members
can access Phone-ABS by simply using their account number
and Access Code. If you experience any difficulty then please
call (02) 67 72 5522 during normal opening hours. |

You will need a touch-tone telephone or a tone sender adapter
available from electronic stores.
Most telephones including mobile phones issued within the last
few years have been tone senders. If yours is not a tone phone,
contact your telephone provider for an upgrade handset.
You may have a pulse/tone switch on your phone. If so, switch
over to "tone" to connect to Phone-ABS.
In addition to a tone sending device, you will also need your
ABS Building Society account number and your date of birth.

If you have the right telephone or adapter, your account number
and the date of birth, you can dial up and connect to Phone-ABS
immediately by phoning (02) 67 71 4588
You will be asked to enter your account number followed by a
# (hash) which is located on the right of the zero "0"
digit on the telephone keypad. Enter the number part of your
account, do not enter the S4, S15, L1, I13, etc.
You will then be asked to enter your Access code followed by
a # (hash). The Access code has been preset to your date of
birth for your initial call.
You will need to enter your date of birth as a six digit number.
For example if your date of birth is 7th of September 1964 you
would enter 070964 (07 for the day, 09 for the month and 64
for the year).
Please note: In the case of joint accounts, the computer
will recognize the date of birth of the first named on the account.
For security purposes, during your initial call, you will
be asked to change your Access Code to a new number with 4 to
6 numbers. We suggest that you avoid simple sequences and repeated
digits and strongly recommend that you do not use your Cashcard
password or your birthdate.
If at any stage you forget your access code, call the Building
Society on (02) 67 72 5522 in normal business hours for help.
Once you have successfully entered your membership number and
Access code, Phone-ABS will automatically give you a balance
on all your "S" accounts. After this you can choose
from a range of options available in the
menu.
If at any stage during your call you wish to disconnect from
Phone-ABS, simply hangup.
